Kinesiology

Kinesiology, first developed by an American chiropractor in 1964, is a very accurate system of muscle testing (resistance of muscle to light pressure) which helps to find the underlying causes of patients’ conditions. Muscle testing allows me to ascertain the best form of treatment i.e. herbs, vitamins, minerals, acupuncture.

Kinesiology or Applied Kinesiology (pronounced kin-easy-ology) is a holistic system of natural health care using muscle testing to ask the body questions. Muscle testing can be used to identify problem areas. Each muscle is related to an organ and also to an acupuncture meridian pathway. Together the muscle, organ and meridian form a ‘circuit’. Light pressure is applied to a muscle and when imbalanced, the muscle becomes weak. It can also establish connections between imbalances, put them in order of priority and determine the most effective treatment. Emotional, physical (or structural) or chemical stresses can cause the body’s systems to be out of balance. Once the imbalances are identified, I use a combination of herbs, acupuncture, lymphatic stimulation and other techniques to gently nudge the body back into harmony with itself.

Kinesiology can, for example, also be used to test for:
• Food sensitivities and allergies
• Hormone imbalance
• Toxicity to metals (such as teeth fillings, lead, etc)
• Bacterial and viral infections
• Determining the causes of headaches
• Selecting suitable herbal remedies or vitamins
• And much much more

To summarise:
Kinesiology is a very accurate system of muscle testing to find the underlying cause of a patient’s condition, and also to help the practitioner decide upon a course of treatment.
